Beatles, Beatles, and more Beatles

Hello to the one person that gives a shit about this blog! Today I went to a local record fair, and I got just three records, all Beatles or Beatles related. Here are all of them!

Starting off with the earliest record, it's The Beatles' third US album, Something New! Originally released July 20th, 1964! I got this for only $2!! Can you believe that? This specific copy was pressed at Capitol Records' pressing plant in Scranton, Pennsylvania according to Discogs. This record wasn't a PITA to find on there like all the other ones. There are so many variants of the same pressing of these old Beatles records, you could probably spend a whole day looking for your specific copy on there!

Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah, Something New. This album consists mostly of tracks from the A Hard Day's Night album, which was released by United Artists Records instead of Capitol over here. They had a copy of that album for $14 at the fair, I would've gotten it but it was a bit beat up. This also includes the B-side tracks of the Long Tally Sally EP (Slow Down and Matchbox. The A-side tracks had been released previously on The Beatles' Second Album) and strangely enough, the German version of "I Want To Hold Your Hand". The inclusion of it seems a bit cash-grabby to me. You could've at least added the German version of She Loves You to the tracklist, man!

Up next is Hey Jude, or The Beatles Again. It has two names for some reason. At $15, this was the most expensive of all of these. Released in February 1970, this is a bit of a strange US exclusive album, combining Beatlemania, Revolver era, and late era tracks into one album. This was mostly due to all of these tracks having not been on a Capitol/US Apple album previously or were single B-sides. The album is in chronological order, as despite being called "Hey Jude" and featuring very late era Beatles photos on it, it kicks off with "Can't Buy Me Love" from A Hard Day's Night (Capitol bought United Artists c. 1980 and thus gained control of the US version of A Hard Day's Night, so this sorta became obsolete lmao.) I actually listened to the A-side while writing the Something New portion of this post so that's cool. I'll listen to side B later.

Lastly we have Band On The Run by Wings. This was the first record I found at the record fair, and it was only $5! I don't really much much to say about this.

Ok, bye! See you later!
